Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF) Sports Director Edgars Buncis will be involved in the planning and coordination of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games hockey tournament in Milan-Cortina.
Buncis will begin his new duties in the organizing committee this fall. In parallel with his work in organizing the Olympic Games hockey tournament, Buncis will also continue to fulfill the duties of LHF Sports Director.
“The Olympic Games are the biggest sporting event of the quadrennial. This time they are special with the participation of NHL players. The Latvian hockey team will also participate in this ambitious sports festival. We hope that our representatives will also be on the refereeing staff. That is why it is a special pleasure to be present at these games and participate in them closer than ever – as part of the organizing team. The Paris Games inspired a new approach to Olympic values. I hope that Milan will successfully continue this progress both in the content of the games and in organizational performance,” said Edgars Buncis about joining the organizing committee team.
The 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo will take place from February 6 to 22. The hockey tournament will start in Milan.
We wish Edgars Bunci good luck in his new job!
